About GLCAC
The history of the church can be traced back to a Chinese Bible study group on the campus of Purdue University in the 1960s. This group was later registered as a student organization known as the Purdue Chinese Christian Fellowship (PCCF). In its early years, the fellowship met regularly at the Upper Room Christian Fellowship church.
In 1993, the fellowship began holding Chinese Sunday worship services at Our Savior Lutheran Church (OSLC). On March 26, 1995, building upon the ministry of the fellowship, the Great Lafayette Chinese Alliance Church was officially established. The church continued to use the facilities of OSLC for its gatherings until March 2007.
From April 2007 to March 2009, the church met at University Church, located across from the Purdue Memorial Union (PMU). Between March 2009 and June 2016, the church primarily gathered at the Wesley Foundation, situated near the Krannert Center and across from PMU and Stewart Center, as well as at the Upper Room Christian Fellowship church.
Groundbreaking for the church’s new building took place on June 21, 2015 (Father’s Day), and the building was first used on June 19, 2016 (Father’s Day). The dedication service was held on September 18, 2016.

The ministries of the church primarily include the worship of God, the edification and fellowship of believers, and the proclamation of the gospel. Jesus Christ is the sole source and foundation of this church. We are committed to learning God’s Word, submitting to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and serving the Lord Jesus Christ by loving and serving one another as brothers and sisters. In doing so, we seek to live out His likeness and glorify God our Heavenly Father.
In its early years, the church primarily served those at Purdue University and in the Greater Lafayette area whose primary language is Chinese. Since the fall of 2015, the church has expanded its English ministries, with the desire to become a Christ-centered spiritual family that welcomes brothers and sisters from all nations. If you would like to learn more about our faith or are seeking a church home, we warmly invite you to join us.
